What about me? I am a mid 30′s guy who is now into his second career working in media. In a previous life, I worked in computer networking. Being dedicated to a hardly glorious, never appreciated, but always first to be blamed, never ending cyclical job keeping computers and networks up and running, left little time for me to really appreciate anything. I had always wondered what it would be like to have an opportunity to be in a position where I could create my own destiny. One where every project would have and end and that someone would appreciate my work not only for it’s completeness and beauty, but for the work that was put into it. By the grace of God and a cheap company I got laid off in 2005.

Since that time, I have had a passion for all things beautiful; whether it be in a video, photograph, person, travel, or even food, I have been the one to step over the edge and try something new. And it has been a goal of mine to share it with others, so here we are. This blog is not only dedicated to being a foodie, which the title says, but also the beauty in the travels, the people that I meet, and things that we can create our lives..

My inspiration oddly enough, comes from the Travel Channel.  Watching people like Bourdain and Zimmern travel the world and experience things few people get to do in life has really got me thinking that anyone can find great experiences and beauty from the simplest to the most extravagant excursions.

Whats different about me?? I’m not a chef, I don’t write books, and I don’t do this for a living; I’m like a weekend warrior of food. I think of myself as just a person that loves great food, drink and life. I can’t explain the technical aspects of it or why things happen, which sometimes food shows and critics go overboard with, but I know what I think is good and why, and I enjoy it. It’s not just about food, wine, etc, its about the experience that you have with family, friends old and new, and or even on your own.

I would hope that something that I do here can influence someone down the road to try new things!
